Fact or Fantasy?

If our political masters are to believed there must be two Britains. My question to you is which do you recognise and live within? Messrs Blair and Brown would have us believe that we are fortunate enough to live in a land whose economy is the envy of the entire western world. They claim to have created stability and will never fail to remind us that we are the forth richest nation on earth. In this land we have near full employment and crime rates are falling. Blair and Brown obviously believe this to be the nation they preside over because they never tire of reminding us just how lucky we are to share it with them! I have to say that as an ordinary citizen forced to live with fact not fantasy, the account they would have us believe simply doesn’t tally with the evidence strewn all about and which shapes the lives of those of us unfortunate enough to live in the real world. Contrast and compare the following thumbnail sketch of our country and see which version rings true with you…

“In 2005 Britain is run according to the emperor’s new clothes principal of economics. The creativity that made this country strong and wholesome has been all but obliterated to be replaced with benefits culture. Our nation has thrown in the towel regarding control over its own affairs and destiny as ultimate control has been meekly handed over to foreign industrialists, bureaucrats and courts. Our nation is drowning in debt. Its borders laid wide open with the result that the streets are awash with hard drugs, illegally held and used firearms and an entire army of benefits tourists, gangsters and potential terrorists. An ever growing proportion of the population are turning feral and shredding the fabric of society. Crime, especially violent crime is rife and features within every single community the length and breadth of Britain. Community spirit is all but dead and the decent hard working and law abiding population are effectively living under siege. Bringing up our children wholesomely has never been harder due to an ever building tidal wave of negative elements. Britain has undergone a seismic shift away from stability towards the most dangerous form of instability”.

A small proportion of the population have undoubtedly benefited under the present regime, and these would be our 1 or 2 % of top earners. They will no doubt prefer the establishment’s interpretation of Britain’s status but that leaves the other 98% or thereabouts of us that have witnessed the undermining of our country’s stability along with most of its institutions. We, the vast majority of the population have paid a most unacceptable price for substandard leadership that ultimately has cost us our traditional way of life and birthright. With your permission I will now paint a more detailed word picture of the true state of our country. The Britain you and I wake up to every morning and which only ever deteriorates as those in control make not even the vaguest of attempts to take so much as half a step backward from the decay that they have themselves allowed to fester and then expend all their energies disguising…

If an average lifetime is three score years and ten then this gives us a scale to work from in determining the pace of Britain’s decline. The rot set in just after the war as despite the greatest of moral victories our nation was exhausted and saddled with debt. All those nations to have supposedly “lost” the war had money and expertise bulldozed toward them by the Americans and their agencies, whilst this nation was left with the mother of all debts the residue of which is still with us even today. Unperceivable at first the decline began to gather pace but by the late sixties was becoming apparent. Industrial relations soured and piece by piece the building blocks of Britain’s creative culture began to crumble. One after another the industries that gave our country its identity, self sufficiency but most important of all “the next generation its role models” began collapsing like dominoes. Words like “mugging” entered the language on the heals of Britain’s industrial decline as the fabric of our formerly civilised society began to disintegrate. At this point our political masters should have become alert to the process of decline now unfolding around us all but instead of action, the problem became compounded by a new breed of politician who would rather look the other way, reassure the public that everything’s fine and get on with the job of looking after what he perceives as his own interests. The very same independence that saved the entire world from Hitler now began to be dismantled. Edward Heath signed us up to what was supposedly a “common market” and at once our political independence went into sharp decline as those who would have overrun our nation through military means not that long before, were instead handed over on a plate a high degree of control over our nations affairs supposedly in our own peoples interests. Mirroring the beginning of Britain’s political subjugation, our industrial independence too went into a nosedive as the spirit and backbone of British industry spectacularly crumbled and foreign industrialists moved in to pick over the entrails. The industrial subjugation of Britain had now become an unstoppable force. The European courts were then handed ultimate power over our own judicial system by the same lowly breed of politician that gave away political independence and so the total subjugation of Britain was now complete.

2005 finds Britain politically subjugated, industrially subjugated and judicially subjugated, our independence in reality snuffed out! Incredibly it’s all happened well within the span of an average lifetime and yet for a thousand years prior to this most criminally destructive period of British history, our forbears built upon the works and achievements of former generations making our country the strongest and most upstanding nation on earth bar none. Britain has exchanged the status of superpower, independent and master over her own destiny, focused, strong, but above all else “stable” for cowardly subservience and instability on a scale that would be unimaginable to the generations that actually built what we have since squandered. It has taken considerably less than an average lifetime to wreck the nation that gave the world mass democracy, all of its most important civilising values and stood alone against the tyranny of fascism in the name of all mankind. The first nation on earth to industrialise becoming the world’s workshop and build for our own benefits a treasure trove of skills that provided both the nation and its many communities with identity and our young with high quality role models has now thrown in the towel on its entire history and heritage becoming the first to de-industrialise. We have lost control over our own borders with all and sundry coming and going as they please. Our nation is viewed as a cash cow to be milked by foreign industrialists in the knowledge that Britain no longer has the slightest degree of backbone having become incapable of defending itself, and we are viewed by the entire world as America’s poodle. Could our nation possibly have become any more enfeebled?

Incredibly we scratch our heads and wonder why an ever growing number of our young are bound into a culture of antisocial crime and depravity, then we indulge ourselves in an orgy of hand wringing and head shaking at how it could have happened!!! If I haven’t made it clear enough already why our nation is on its knees then let me step up another gear by using the most blunt and brutal language…

Never has our nation been blighted by a lower standard of leadership. Our political leaders have allowed Britain to be subjugated and then sought to cover up the reality with fiddled figures and downright bullshit. The heart and soul has been ripped out of numerous communities as real jobs have shipped out and poor quality minimum wage or just above ones have drifted in and been hailed as adequate replacements. Many if not most of these jobs would dissolve overnight were the prop of benefits taken away! Gordon Brown has sought to disguise a myriad of “sows ear” standard jobs for silk purse ones by the application of layer upon layer of benefits. Where real jobs create wealth and pay money into the system benefits do the opposite, they drain the system. We have thrown away our former creative culture and replaced it with a culture of benefits and this spectacularly stupid downgrade has spawned some very nasty by-products.

The notion that the world owes us all a living is rife and this has led in turn to irresponsible breeding on a scale unimaginable just a couple of decades ago. Why take responsibility for the fruit of your loins when the state will take on the job of surrogate father no questions asked? You and I as taxpayers have never had to work harder supporting the offspring of the feckless who have grown up with the notion that they will not be required to take responsibility for their actions. How many of those children now effectively waging war on society are the product of substandard parents living off benefits? How many don’t have a clue as to where their paternal roots lay and have no genuine high quality role model to look towards for responsible guidance and stability? They are confused and angry and they don’t know why! Who’s to blame the kids themselves or the society that created them? Now pile on the agony by turning control of the streets over to drug dealers and gang culture, ineffective policing having become standard and there you have the main ingredients for the disaster now blighting us all.

There’s no polite way of saying this… the police are a f***ing joke!!! We need genuine consensual policing and we’ve got instead a spent force wearing stab-proof flack jackets whilst issuing speed tickets to soft targets. Once the envy of the world now the police are demoralized, led by political cowards and obsessed with political correctness. The result is that the decent law abiding citizen can no longer rely on the police to fight his corner should he be victimised, instead he’s as good as on his own the law of the jungle now having been allowed all the room it needs to expand like the virulent social cancer it is. The law itself has been turned upside down and inside out as criminals now have more rights that they can shake a stick at and those working within the legal profession as lawyers and QC’s have mutated from the pillars of society their forebears undoubtedly were to instead Britain’s most ruthless and destructive breed of businessmen. Short sentencing, unjust appeals, compensation culture, the law becoming loaded in favour of criminals and against the law abiding guarantees the breakdown of society and the making of ever more profitable livelihoods for lawyers. What else features prominently within the daily life of modern Britain?

The blight of antisocial crime is plain for all to see but perhaps the most damaging to the long term prospects of our country is the newly imposed culture of binge drinking. Our town centres become war zones at night time, and off limits to decent people. Those indulging in this new phenomenon are not just shredding the fabric of our society but they are wrecking their own health into the bargain, yet it is these very same people that represent our future! How bleak a prospect is that? Ill-discipline within our schools is not just wrecking the long term prospects of those indulging in this most destructive social ailment but they are undermining the education of an entire generation. 50% of all our young are steered toward further education where they will acquire an enormous millstone of debt at the start out their working lives; still at least they won’t show up on unemployment statistics for 3 years! The MRSA super-bug now kills thousands of our people every year within a health service that is supposed to save life. Our hospitals are under so much pressure to chase government targets that they won’t close and sterilise infected wards as to do so gets in the way of government dictates with the result that people are dying in unjustified agony. Nor do they apply sufficient funds to employ anywhere near enough high calibre cleaning staff. Believe me on the subject of MRSA I know exactly what I’m talking about. My own father died as a result of it in 2000. This brave old soldier fought for his country from the first shots of the war in 1939 to the last in 1945. Despite 6 years of trying the German army failed to take him out but where they failed the NHS succeeded. A land fit for heroes? I think not. For those presently within the final stage of life as senior citizens peace of mind and dignity are qualities of the past. Many are forced to cower behind locked doors terrified to go out at night and who can blame them? So called “care” in old age makes a mint of money for those in control of the industry whilst those who actually carry out backbreaking work flog themselves half to death for a minimum wage or just above. Our old folks themselves are of course the source of the funds and find themselves asset stripped of everything they worked so hard for all their lives. Many of the generation coming up behind those presently classified as senior citizens find their pensions are not worth the paper they’re written on and as a result they face working until they drop. Not a comforting prospect!

These are just a handful of the numerous features that make up national life but they are typical and represent the true picture of modern Britain. The story is one of neglect and decay. Perhaps the simplest way of illustrating our country’s present psychologically crippled condition is to focus upon the numbers leaving having drawn the conclusion that their country is finished and the only sensible course of action is to get the hell out. A quarter of a million plus citizens emigrated last year and this is a figure growing year on year all the time. We are haemorrhaging vast numbers of our skilled countrymen and their families at a time when we desperately need both them and their skills here.

There is only one way of slowing the flow of good people whose loss to the nation compounds an already critical situation and that is to give them incentive to stay not flee. We must stop kidding ourselves that all’s fine because patently it is not! We must move our nation away from the present culture of imposed neglect toward a new culture of nurture, and that process has to start with the dismissal of Gordon Brown’s farcical interpretation of Britain’s condition. Instead we must focus sharply upon the Britain of fact not fantasy. Gordon may well be the darling of the city and regularly trot out supportive high ranking movers and shakers to reinforce his claims to have created a stable economy, but bear in mind that all of those piping up on his behalf and going along with the embarrassingly see-through fairytale have made mints of money under his and Blair’s regime. The truth of Blair and Brown’s Britain is that we as a nation have lost the plot. Brown presides over not a stable but a basket case economy! A trillion pounds worth of personal debt. Deindustrialisation and the resultant 35 billion pound trade deficit last year alone. Benefits culture out of control. Wide open borders. Crime and disorder netting fortunes for lawyers. Perhaps most telling of all is that today’s children have lost their freedom to explore their own environment as terrified parents confine them to home stunting their growth and development whilst perverts, bullies, drug dealers and thugs have total unopposed command of the streets. Our children have been deprived of their birthright and it’s about time that on their behalf we took it back!

For goodness sake somebody send Gordon Brown an accurate interpretation of the word “stability” The man’s own self deluded version belongs within a fairytale not within the Britain of reality.
